the story

In the Spring of 2019, a tragic accident in Seattle WA caused the death of a young woman (Sarah Wong, 19) who attended Seattle Pacific University. The grief that overtook the community, and the city at large was immense and indescribable. This piece was written to comfort those grieving when words were not enough; to lament the loss of a bright light, as we headed into the brightest time of the year- summertime.

‘summer without you’ is dedicated to my friend, Jade Aritchita, and to her friend, Sarah Wong. May we always remember to cling to those we love in times of joy and in sorrow.
