the story

Growing up, I was told how much I mattered, but I didn’t believe it until I became an adult.

Struggles with understanding our significance are so universal, and each individual journey toward loving ourselves as we were meant to be, progresses at varying rates. the message of the song, “You Don’t Miss a Thing” is that “…in a crowd of ten thousand,” we are seen and understood “…through the eyes of love”. This message transformed the way I saw myself, my worth, and my understanding of love; it fills me with such peace and reassurance, and I wanted to share this personal experience with others through dance. It was premiered for a Christian college ministry in Seattle WA, where many students gather hoping to find a sense of meaning and significance just as I did. My hope is that through this piece, people were reminded of their value, their significance, and that they are seen and loved in their humanity.
